Frequently Asked Questions
What Can I expect when I visit Monroe FUMC?
Visiting a church for the first, second, even third time can cause some anxiety. What are the people going to be like? What should I wear? What are the services like? At Monroe FUMC, you will find a group of loving, warm, caring people of God who count each individual who enters into the church as a member of the family. Our services are all Biblically based, and during all of the different services, you will experience a worship and God-filled service.
What Should I Wear?
At Monroe FUMC, we believe people from all walks of life are welcome in God's church. In general, you will find people dressed in all styles...casual, "churchy", suit and tie. Come as you are!
How Can I Get Involved?
One of the best ways to get connected at Monroe FUMC is to join one of many wonderful Sunday School classes. We have classes for individuals of all ages and phases of life, and classes are open to visitors as well as church members. Our Missions Committee is always looking for individuals who desire to serve the community and beyond. Other groups in the church, such as our Chancel Choir and Praise Team are always looking for helping hands.
What Do You Have For My Kids?
We are very proud of the many worship and study opportunities for the children and youth of Monroe FUMC. Sunday morning, there is nursery care for our youngest ones during all services and Sunday School. We have Sunday School classes for children ages 2 and above. During the 11:00 service, we have a Children's Sermon, where the children of the church are invited to share a special lesson taught by Lisa Smith. We also have Children's Church for ages 4 to 2nd grade. Wednesday nights throughout the school year are filled with special activities, and we have Music Camp and VBS throughout the summer.
